Mohamed Zain Dada

Mohamed-Zain is a talented writer and director. Since graduating with his MA in Creative Writing and Education from Goldsmiths University of London, where he was a recipient of the Aziz Foundation scholarship, Zain has been part of the Soho Theatre Writers Lab 2019/20, the Royal Court Theatre Writers Group 2019/20, and the School of High Tide Writers Group 2020. He is also involved with Tamasha Theatre Writers Group and BBC London Voices. He is co- founder of Khidr Collective, an annual zine which platforms the work of British Muslim artists and has been featured in VICE, Huck Magazine and ARTE. He won an Outspoken Award for directing poetry film THE MOON IS A MEME and has been shortlisted for the Overheard Podcast Award for his audio-drama, ZIDANE OF THE ENDS. Zain is a Winston Churchill Fellow after publishing his research on ‘The Future of Community Arts.’ Zain is currently under commission to the Royal Court and 45North.

Zain is currently under commission from the Royal Court with his play Blue Mist and with Theatre Centre with his play Dizzy.
